Christ Your Wisdom Will Prosper You and Astound Others

1 Corinthians 1:30
30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God…

It is believed that there has never been a wealthier king than King Solomon. God gave him wisdom that not only made him wise in matters of justice, but also brought him gold and silver. (1 Kings 3:12–13)

According to a report of the Illinois Society of Architects in 1925, the cost of Solomon’s temple in terms of existing values would have been about US$87 billion! The priests wore garments costing more than US$10 million! These amounts only cover what Solomon spent on the temple and not his personal assets.

We can go on talking about the riches of King Solomon, but the Bible tells us that there is one greater than Solomon. (Matthew 12:42) His name is Jesus, and He is the most prosperous Man who ever lived and who will ever live.

If there was a need to feed the hungry, He simply multiplied whatever food was placed in His hands. On one occasion, He multiplied five loaves and two fish to feed 5,000 men, not counting women and children. And incredibly, there were 12 baskets full of leftovers. (Matthew 14:15–21)

If any of His own faced lack, it was not long before abundant provision flowed to them. Once, when His disciples caught nothing after a whole night of fishing, He merely spoke a word of command and schools of fish obeyed, swimming towards His disciples’ boat so that they received a net-breaking, boat-sinking load of fish. (Luke 5:1–7) When it came to financial needs, He provided the money, even if it took a fish to bring it to them! (Matthew 17:24–27)

My friend, this same Jesus has become for you wisdom from God. If you are a businessman, with Christ in you, you have wisdom that is greater than the wisdom of all the world’s business gurus put together. And if you are a student, Christ in you will manifest wisdom that is greater than all the wisdom of the brilliant minds in the academic world.

Beloved, believe that because Jesus, God’s wisdom, is in you, there is no reason you cannot prosper today, and astound the world in the same way Solomon did!

The Glory of God Has Been Restored To You

The Glory Of God Has Been Restored To You

John 17:22
22And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one.

When God made man, the Bible says God crowned him with glory and honour. (Psalm 8:5) Now, the word “crowned” does not mean “crown” in the way a king’s crown adorns his head. No, it means to encompass or to surround like a glorious circle. The glory of God was therefore man’s “clothing”. Adam’s whole being was gloriously radiant and shining.

Now, when man sinned against God, he forfeited the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) But when Jesus Christ was born, the glory of God came down. (Luke 2:9) And our Lord Jesus, before He died, said to His Father, “… the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one.” The glory of God which man forfeited has now been restored because Jesus has come.

My friend, when He died on the cross, He took our shame, gave us His righteousness and restored the glory of God to us.

But what exactly is this glory of God? Doxa, the Greek word for “glory”, means “having a good opinion concerning one that results in praise, honour, and glory”. This means that in restoring to us His glory, God wants us to have the sense that we are praise-worthy, honourable and glorious because of His constant good opinion of us!

Beloved, because God’s glory is on you, there is a weightiness about you. People don’t know why, but their spirits are lifted when they are in your presence. There is something about you that impacts them even if they have only been with you for a short while. When you talk, they listen because there is substance in what you say.
Also, because God’s glory is on you, you can expect it to touch every aspect of your life — your finances, relationships, work and health. Your body, for example, will glow with divine health.

So my friend, because Jesus has come and restored the glory of God to you, be conscious of God’s constant good opinion of you. Know that there is a weightiness about you and arise, shine!

God Is Your Rewarder

God Is Your RewarderDec 28, '07 9:50 AM
for everyone

Hebrews 11:6

6But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Hebrews 11:6 does not end with “without faith it is impossible to please Him”. It continues with the line, “for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him”. In other words, the faith that pleases God is the kind of faith that believes that God exists and that He is a rewarder.

The Bible also says that “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”. (Hebrews 11:1) Even in times of difficulty, when we do not see good things happening in our circumstances, we are to believe that God will turn things around and reward us.

God turned things around for Ruth, the Moabite widow, when she believed the Lord and made Him her God. (Ruth 1:16) The Bible tells us that Ruth was given a “full reward” by the Lord when she came under His wings for refuge. (Ruth 2:12) Not only did God give her protection, He also gave her abundant provision, exceeding favour and a glorious redemption. (Ruth 2:9–17, 3:11, 4:10–13)

When Rahab, the harlot of Jericho, heard reports of how God had opened up the Red Sea for the children of Israel, she believed that “He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath”. (Joshua 2:9–11) Though Rahab had not personally witnessed the miracles, she believed God and hid the spies from their pursuers. (Joshua 2:4–6) Because of her faith, she not only did not perish with those who did not believe (Joshua 6:25, Hebrews 11:31), but was also given a place in the “Hall of Faith” in Hebrews 11.

God was so pleased with the faith of these two Gentile women that He not only blessed them in their lifetimes, but He also put both of them into the genealogy of His Son, Jesus Christ, the great Redeemer and rewarder.

Beloved, when you come to the Lord with your needs, believe that He is God, and that He is a rewarder. God has pleasure in this kind of faith. He wants to be the rewarder of your faith in Him!

Wait for the Wind (Rest and Shalom)

A Season of Lights -  Day 1 - Wait for the Wind

A few days ago one of our friends had a powerful vision as she was waiting on the Lord.  She saw the story from Mark 4 of Jesus and His disciples in the boat.

That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, 'Let us go over to the other side.' Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him.  A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, 'Teacher, don't you care if we drown?'

He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, 'Quiet! Be still!' Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.

He said to his disciples, 'Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?' Mark 4:35-40

As the vision progressed to her surprise she saw the waves were not made of water but masses of people who were flapping their arms up and down like a bird. Their furious actions were producing a huge wind that was threatening to capsize the boat.  Just as it looked like the boat would be swamped, Jesus stood up and commanded to the human-engineered wave "Quiet!  Be still!"

Then she heard the Spirit of God say, "I am calming the winds of self-drivenness that have caused much adversity and have wearied My people.  Be still, and know that I am God. (Psalm 46:10).  In this season wait for My wind to come so that you can soar to where I want to take you without becoming weary and fainting.'

Do you not know? Have you not heard?   The Everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable. He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might He increases power.  Though youths grow weary and tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly, yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.   Isaiah 40:28-41:1

As we stand poised to enter the Promised Land and possess our inheritances, God wants to prepare us by establishing His body in a deeper revelation of rest.

Rest doesn't mean that we sit back and do nothing.  Rest is a position that we maintain in our spirits –  regardless of how busy we are or how much work we are doing.  It is the peaceful "settledness" that is a natural byproduct of our faith in God – our revelation of who He is and the depth of His love for us.

God wants to silence the voices of fear and human performance that drive us to labour in our own strength.

Just as faith is at the foundation of rest, fear is at the foundation of drivenness.  Wherever we have fear in our lives we have an absence of revelation of who God really is.

God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.  1 John 4:16-18

Even when we have good intentions, if our efforts to serve God are powered by fear (fear of failure, rejection, loss etc) or human weakness (pride, jealousy, anger, offense, etc.) we will find that we are flapping our arms under our own strength.  This may generate a lot of wind but the wind can endanger the kingdom as much as it can help it.  What's more instead of being energized by the Spirit's power and rest, we will find ourselves drained and wearied.

'Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take
my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.'
Matthew 11:28-30

There are many ways in which we can move out of rest.  Some people are self-driven in their efforts (those flapping their arms) but others are like the disciples in this story – becoming anxious over the human-driven waves because they are fearful that God's purposes will be delayed or aborted.

There is a fine line we must walk between stewarding a vision and taking possession of it.  As stewards God entrusts us to take care of a vision/purpose according to the measure of grace that He releases to us for the task.  But if we try to take possession of this vision/purpose, we are assuming the burden both to fulfill and protect the vision.  Not only will this weary us (because we are carrying a burden that isn't ours) but becoming "vision focused" can open a door for the enemy to deceive us into justifying ungodly and unloving behaviours even against other brothers and sisters in the body in the name of "protecting the vision of God".

If we are those who are flapping our arms or those who are afraid of the turmoil we see in the church around us the Lord's message to us in this season is the same:  Peace! Be Still!  He who began a good work is well able to complete it!

As Chanukah begins, a representation of national leaders will be meeting in a convent in the city of Chateauguay (just outside Montreal).  The motto of the city's coat of arms is "unita fortior" – united we are stronger.  The convent is located right near one of the oldest windmills in North America – it seems God is determined we don't miss the message of waiting for His wind!

Like Father, Like Son

Like Father, Like SonDec 6, '07 11:22 AM

Like Father, Like Son

Romans 8:16
16The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.

Everything produces after its kind. Dogs give birth to puppies, cats give birth to kittens and tigers give birth to tiger cubs. In the same manner, when you are born again, you are born of God. You are a child of the Most High God and He is your Father. He doesn’t see you in the flesh. He sees you in the Spirit. And His Spirit bears witness with your spirit that you are His child.

So when the devil comes to you and says, “Well, your father died of cancer, his father died of cancer and you are going to die of cancer, just like your father,” you should say to him, “Yes, devil, you are right, I am like my father — my Father in heaven. I am a child of the Most High God. He doesn’t have cancer, so neither do I!”

In the same way, when you are born again of the Spirit, you are born to win. Because your Daddy God is a winner, you are too! When you wake up in the morning, say, “I am born to be a winner because God is a winner!”

When you say that you cannot afford to buy something that you need, you have forgotten which family you now belong to. You have been born again into a very rich family — your Father owns every beast in the forest and the cattle on a thousand hills! (Psalm 50:10) You have a Daddy God in heaven who can supply all your needs. (Philippians 4:19) Even if you don’t have the money now, you need not worry. Just ask God for the supply because your heavenly Father is rich.

When someone talks to you about a problem and asks, “What are we going to do about it?” you should say, “Don’t worry. Let’s talk to Daddy God about it. It’s not a problem for Him, so it will not be a problem for us.”

Even when all around you is going under, your Daddy God is still the same heavenly Father who kept Noah’s world afloat, his loved ones safe and sound, and his possessions intact. Your world will never go under because you are God’s beloved child!

If you would like to receive all that Jesus has done for you and make Him your Lord and Saviour, please say this prayer.

Lord Jesus, thank you for loving me and dying for me on the cross. Your precious blood washes me clean of every sin. You are my Lord, my Saviour and my God, now and forever. I believe that You rose from the dead and that You are alive today. God, You are my Father and I am Your child because of Jesus Christ. Thank you for filling my heart with Your peace and joy. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Joint Heirs With Christ Jesus

Joint Heirs With Christ Jesus

Galatians 4:7
7Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

As long as you are born again, you are no longer a “slave”, but a son or daughter of the Most High God! And God does not just call you His son or daughter. He also calls you “an heir” through Christ. In fact, Romans 8:17 says that you are a “joint heir” with Christ.
As a joint heir with Christ Jesus, you inherit everything that He is. How precious Jesus is to the Father, is how precious you are to the Father. The way the Father loves Jesus, is the way the Father loves you!

How accepted are you by God today? Look at Jesus. That is how accepted you are! Christ is the measure of your acceptance. How favoured are you by God? Look at Jesus, who is seated at the Father’s right hand. You enjoy that same favour today because whatever Christ enjoys, you enjoy!

As a joint heir with Christ Jesus, you also inherit all that He has obtained from the Father. How much Jesus has, is how much you have. How prosperous is the one who made all things, and who put the gold, silver and diamonds in the earth? So are you in this world! (1 John 4:17)

I used to read the Bible to find out how to be a rich, successful and victorious Christian. But now, I read it to find out more about Jesus because I know that when I find Him, I find my every blessing in Him. (Ephesians 1:3, 2 Peter 1:3)

My friend, all that Jesus is in heaven today, you are in this world. All that belongs to Him, belongs to you. That is why it is in your interest to know Him more, to see Him in all His glory and beauty. And because Jesus is so rich and glorious, it will take you a lifetime to discover everything that He is for you and has for you.

Beloved, you are an heir of the Most High God. You are a joint heir with Christ Jesus. So find out all the blessings that your rich inheritance includes and start enjoying them today!

Pronounce Yourself Clean!

Pronounce Yourself Clean!Dec 4, '07 10:31 AM

Pronounce Yourself Clean!

Matthew 8:3
3Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
Most of us are familiar with the healing of the leper in Matthew 8. It is a beautiful account of God’s willingness to touch and heal the sick, no matter how unclean they may be. Whenever we doubt God’s willingness to heal us, we should listen to the words of Jesus again, who is the same yesterday, today and forever: “I am willing; be cleansed.”
Since the Bible is clear about God’s willingness to heal, why do we still have problems with our health? Why do we still experience attacks and symptoms in our bodies that seem to imply that we are not healed?

I believe that the answer is found in what Jesus told the leper to do next. He told him to go and show himself to the priest. (Matthew 8:4) This was the law then for lepers who were healed. (Leviticus 14:2–3) And he was to hear the priest pronounce the word “clean” over him. (Leviticus 14:7)

You see, as believers, when we received Jesus, His blood cleansed us from sin as well as sickness. (Isaiah 53:4–5) But we keep hearing people pronounce sin, sickness, poverty and death over us. We keep hearing people tell us we are unclean, undeserving, poor, weak, and that it is only natural that we grow old and sickly, and die.
God is waiting for a priesthood that will rise up and pronounce His people clean!
“But Pastor Prince, where can I find such priests?”

Who are the priests today? You and I! In fact, we have more authority to pronounce good things than the Levitical priests of the Old Testament. They were just priests. But we are king-priests by the blood of Jesus. (Revelation 1:5–6) Where the word of the king is, there is power. (Ecclesiastes 8:4) And by the word of a priest, every controversy and every assault shall be settled. (Deuteronomy 21:5)

Beloved, God has cleansed you, so pronounce yourself clean! Right now, put your hand on your heart and pronounce good things over yourself. Say, “I pronounce myself clean, righteous, healed, whole and prosperous by the blood of Jesus!” By your word as a king-priest, every assault against you shall be settled!
