God's Grace Is Unmerited

God’s Grace Is Unmerited

Galatians 5:4 (AMP)

If you seek to be justified and declared righteous and to be given a right standing with God through the Law, you are brought to nothing and so separated(severed) from Christ. You have fallen away from grace(from God's gracious favor and unmerited blessing).

What is the grace of God? Simply put, the grace of God is God's blessing, healing, delivering and prospering you because of Jesus. The grace of God is the unearned, unmerited, undeserved favour of God towards you simply because of Jesus’ finished work at the cross.

Because the grace of God is based on Jesus’ work and not yours, the only way you fall from this grace is by believing that you can earn, merit and deserve it through your works and obedience.

For example, you fall from God’s grace when you say, “I have prayed long enough, now God has to answer my prayer,” or when you think that because you are serving in church or you have broken a bad habit, God should be pleased with you and He should bless you.

When you think that it is by your efforts and obedience that you receive God’s blessings, you become like the Pharisees. They believed that their law-keeping justified them and ensured that God would bless them.

But the truth is that when you believe like them, “you have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace (Galatian 5:4, NKJV)”.

This means that you are cut off from Christ, who is your Salvation, Redeemer, Healer and Provider. Christ becomes of no effect to you!!

Good News Is:

For Christ to always be of effect to you, and to never nullify the grace of God operating in your life, all you need to do is remember and believe that it is because of Christ and His finished work; His blood, His stripes, His death, His obedience that you are justified, healed, prosperous and blessed!

ALL GLORY TO CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD!

AMEN!
